Inbjudan till Klaipeda, 26e juni 2014!

Denna inbjudan inkom idag till SSF's sekreterare:

"To whom it may concern.

In behalf of Mrs. Olga Zaliene, the Director Lithuanian Sea Museum, I kindly ask Your attention to the information and call for participants below:

It will be the third year when Lithuanian Sea Museum is going to organize the meeting of traditional historical ships in Klaipeda. Such ships and marine boats as Kurėnas (Korn boat, Kurenkahn), venter boat, dug-out, and historical (classic) yacht from Lithuania, Russian Federation, Germany, and Poland took part in previous flotillas. The aim of this event is to disseminate the marine heritage from different countries, as well as to promote old fishing crafts (there will be organized a wind vane (or weathercock) production workshop „By the Wind Vanes’ Ways Around the Lagoon“ next to the flotilla). Participating ships and marine boats will sail up to the Pilies Port on the day of the event; they will become the exhibits of “living“ ship exhibition. Event visitors will be able to get acquainted with the traditional historical ships, as well as to visit them, to talk to crew members and then to see the ship parade. The event will be held on June 26, 2014.

We kindly invite You to take part in the traditional historical ships’ event and to introduce a ship or a marine boat representing Your region or a ship or a marine boat that keeps the authentic shipbuilding or shipping features. The main condition for the ship or the marine boat – it has to be up to 10-12 m LOA (Lenght overall).

Lithuanian Sea Museum plans to cover ship transporting, crew accommodation, and food costs.

We hope very much for Your interest in the event. We strongly believe that the cooperation of our organizations will contribute significantly to the promotion and dissemination of marine culture.

I look forward for Your cooperation and to hear from You as soon as possible.
Please, can You share this invitation with whom it may concern?
